This brief outlines the changes in K-12 assessments that will arise due to the adoption of the Common Core Standards and the associated Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) Assessments. In this brief, we spell out the pros and cons of switching to the proposed new test format and we consider the ways in which K-12 education and testing the state of Arkansas will be incluenced.
