I’m sure making students go year round improves test scores, but at what cost? Kids need playtime to learn and grow. Socializing outside of structured learning is part of the development process.
Thanks for your comment! We agree that kids need time outside of school to learn and grow. The students in year-round schools don’t go to school more than kids on a traditional calendar. They go to school for the same number of days as a regular calendar, the breaks are just smaller and more frequent. Not surprisingly, increases in test scores aren’t seen consistently in year-round schools.
